Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 1st Nov 2026

Last Updated: 1st Nov 2026

YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US

CLUEBELL STUDIO (“we”, “our”, “us”) develops and publishes Layerade (the “Game”). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you play it.

In short: Layerade has no accounts and no servers of ours. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we never see them. Your progress is a file on your own device and is not uploaded anywhere. Two third parties receive data: Google AdMob, which serves the adverts that keep the Game free, and Google Analytics for Firebase, which shows us, as reports, how the Game is played. Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store, which tell us only that a purchase succeeded.

By downloading or playing the Game, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

Information Stored On Your Device

The Game stores your progress and settings in a file on your device. That includes:

  • Your scores and level progress.
  • Which items and upgrades you own.
  • Your coins balance.
  • Your sound, music and other preferences.
  • A randomly generated installation identifier, used only to keep that file consistent.

This information is not transmitted to us. It stays on the device until you delete the Game or clear its data, and we hold no copy that we could restore.

One thing is outside the Game’s control. If Android’s own backup is switched on for your Google account, Android may keep a copy of the Game’s data in that account and put it back when you reinstall. That copy is kept by Google under your account, not by us, and you manage it in your device’s backup settings.

Information Collected For Advertising

The Game shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. To do that, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:

  • Your device’s advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS).
  • Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it.
  • Device information such as model, operating system version and language.
  • Information about the adverts shown to you and how you interacted with them.

Google and its partners use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure adverts. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Where the law requires it, the Game asks for your consent before personalised adverts are shown, using Google’s certified consent tool. You can change that choice at any time from the Game’s settings screen. If you decline, you will still see adverts, but they will not be personalised.

Information Collected For Analytics

The Game includes Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service that shows us, as reports, how the Game is played, so that we can find problems and improve it. It is switched on only in versions of the Game that we publish with a Firebase configuration. In a version published without one it does not start, and sends nothing. When it is on, Google receives:

  • Events describing play, such as: runs and levels started, cleared or failed; tutorial steps; coins earned and spent; skins unlocked; daily rewards and missions; adverts offered, shown and rewarded; and how many sessions you play, how long they last and how long the Game took to start.
  • Purchases you make: which product, its price and currency, and the store’s transaction identifier.
  • The Game’s random installation identifier, which the Game sets as its analytics user ID, and the identifiers Firebase itself uses — an app-instance ID and, when your consent choices allow it, your advertising identifier.
  • Your device model, operating system, and language and country settings, and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address.
  • Technical error reports: the error messages the Game’s own code writes, and the type and place of any unexpected error inside the Game. Never anything you type — the Game has nowhere to type.

Where the law requires consent, the Game sends Google nothing until you have given it through the consent tool described above, and you can withdraw it at any time from the Game’s settings screen. Elsewhere it runs from the Game’s first launch. Google explains how Firebase handles this information at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Purchases

Optional purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Your payment details are given to them, never to us. We receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded and a transaction identifier, which is what tells the Game to unlock what you bought.

What We Do Not Collect
  • We do not ask for or store your name, email address, postal address or phone number.
  • There is no account and no login.
  • We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or precise GPS location.
  • We do not sell personal information.
How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent information about you. The only third parties involved are:

  • Google AdMob — to serve and measure adverts, as described above.
  • Google, through Google Analytics for Firebase — to measure how the Game is played, only in versions where it is switched on, as described above.
  • Google, through its User Messaging Platform — to show players in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom the consent form, and to record their answer.
  • Google Play and the Apple App Store — to process purchases, distribute the Game, and show the store’s own rating card when the Game asks for a review.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.

Legal Bases For Processing (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
  • Consent — for personalised advertising, which we ask for through the consent tool described above, and which you may withdraw at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — for non-personalised advertising and for keeping the Game secure and working correctly.
  • Performance of a contract — for delivering purchases you make.
Your Choices And Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no account and no personal information about you, the fastest routes are usually direct:

  • Advertising: reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings, or opt out of personalised adverts there. You can also change your consent choice in the Game’s settings.
  • Everything the Game stores: uninstalling the Game, or clearing its data, deletes it from your device (see Android’s own backup, above).
  • Analytics information already sent, where analytics is switched on: it is kept in the Game’s Google Analytics account, which we manage, for the retention period set there. It is labelled only with random identifiers, never your name or email address, and the Game does not show you those identifiers, so we cannot pick out yours; write to us with any request and we will do what we can, including deleting the data for an identifier you can give us.

To make a request of us, or to complain, write to info@cluebellstudio.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

United States State Privacy Rights

If you live in California or another US state with comparable law, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information for money. The advertising described above may qualify as “sharing” for targeted advertising under some of these laws. You can opt out through your device’s advertising settings, or through the privacy options the Game presents in your region.

Children’s Privacy

Layerade is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to remove it. Contact us at info@cluebellstudio.com.

Retention

Information stored on your device remains there until you remove the Game or clear its data, subject to Android’s own backup described above. Information held by Google for advertising is retained under Google’s own policies, linked above. Analytics reports, where analytics is switched on, are kept in the Game’s Google Analytics account for the retention period set there.

International Transfers

Our advertising and store partners operate globally, so information described in this policy may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those partners use their own safeguards for such transfers, described in their privacy policies.

Data Security

The save file on your device is protected against tampering, and all network communication the Game makes uses encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the exposure here is small by design: we hold no personal information about you to lose.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Game’s data practices — for example if we add an analytics provider or a different advertising partner — or in legal requirements. We will update the effective date at the top of this page, and notify you of significant changes in the Game.
