YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US
CLUEBELL STUDIO (“we”, “our”, “us”) develops and publishes Block Stack (the “Game”). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you play it.
In short: Block Stack has no accounts and no servers of ours. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we never see them. Your progress is a file on your own device and is not uploaded anywhere. Two third parties receive data: Google AdMob, which serves the adverts that keep the Game free, and Google Analytics for Firebase, which shows us, as reports, how the Game is played. Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store, which tell us only that a purchase succeeded.
By downloading or playing the Game, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
The Game stores your progress and settings in a file on your device. That includes:
This information is not transmitted to us. It stays on the device until you delete the Game or clear its data, at which point it is gone permanently — we hold no copy and cannot restore it.
The Game shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. To do that, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
Google and its partners use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure adverts. You can read how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Where the law requires it, the Game asks for your consent before personalised adverts are shown, using Google’s certified consent tool. You can change that choice at any time from the Game’s settings screen. If you decline, you will still see adverts, but they will not be personalised.
The Game includes Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service that shows us, as reports, how the Game is played, so that we can find problems and improve it. It is switched on only in versions of the Game that we publish with a Firebase configuration. In a version published without one it does not start, and sends nothing. When it is on, Google receives:
Where the law requires consent, the Game sends Google nothing until you have given it through the consent tool described above, and you can withdraw it at any time from the Game’s settings screen. Elsewhere it runs from the Game’s first launch. Google explains how Firebase handles this information at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Optional purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Your payment details are given to them, never to us. We receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded and a transaction identifier, which is what tells the Game to unlock what you bought.
We do not sell or rent information about you. The only third parties involved are:
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no account and no personal information about you, the fastest routes are usually direct:
To make a request of us, or to complain, write to info@cluebellstudio.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you live in California or another US state with comparable law, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.
We do not sell your personal information for money. The advertising described above may qualify as “sharing” for targeted advertising under some of these laws. You can opt out through your device’s advertising settings, or through the privacy options the Game presents in your region.
Block Stack is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to remove it. Contact us at info@cluebellstudio.com.
Information stored on your device remains there until you remove the Game or clear its data. Information held by Google for advertising is retained under Google’s own policies, linked above. Analytics reports, where analytics is switched on, are kept in the Game’s Google Analytics account for the retention period set there.
Our advertising and store partners operate globally, so information described in this policy may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those partners use their own safeguards for such transfers, described in their privacy policies.
The save file on your device is protected against tampering, and all network communication the Game makes uses encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the exposure here is small by design: we hold no personal information about you to lose.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Game’s data practices — for example if we add an analytics provider or a different advertising partner — or in legal requirements. We will update the effective date at the top of this page, and notify you of significant changes in the Game.
